Project narrative
On December 13, 2010, China Eximbank provided a $44,992,000 preferential buyer’s credit (PBC) agreement for National Road No. 41 (NR 41) Construction Project (Junction NR4 Thnal Toteung-Chum Kiri Section). The borrowing terms of the loan were as follows: 20-year maturity, 7-year grace period, 2% interest rate. The proceeds of the loan were to be used by the borrower to partially finance an EPC contract with China Road & Bridge Corporation (CRBC). The purpose of this project was to construct a 95.28 km segment along National Road No. 41 (NR 41) that runs from the junction of National Road No.4 (NR 4) in Thnal Toteung to Chum Kiri District (Khmer: ស្រុកជុំគីរី) in Kampot Province. This road connects the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh with the country’s southwestern coastal area. CRBC was the EPC contractor responsible for implementation. Guangzhou Wanan Construction Supervision Company was the contractor responsible for project supervision. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on May 18, 2011, and the project was completed on June 29, 2015.
