Project narrative

According to a declaration by the Mandalay Eye Hospital, China would have collaborated with the hospital's medical team in February 2013 to give over 200 free cataract surgeries to patients from the Mandalay area. An official governmental website declared that the operations were carried out from 27 February to 2 March 2013 by the Yunnan First People's Hospital medical team. Besides the operations themselves, the initiative also included exchange of medical technology.
