Project narrative

On December 1, 2008, the Chinese government and the Government of Laos signed letters of exchange for the Presidential Guest House Construction Project. As part of the Presidential palace in Vientiane, the Guest House consists of presidential suite, prime minister suite and ministerial suites, as well as suites for accompanying officials, kitchen and dining room with a total area of 3,495.5 square meters. The Guest House will become the major place where Lao government holds foreign affairs activities and reception works. China Railway Engineering Consulting Group Co., Ltd, Jiangsu Jiangdu Construction Group Co., Ltd., and Shenyang Engineering Supervision & Consultation Co., Ltd. were the contractors responsible for implementation. Construction began on March 24, 2013 and ended on April 25, 2014.
