Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In June 2013, China donated several Sakyamuni tooth-relic stupa replicas to Myanmar. They will be kept for public obeisance in Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw, and Mandalay. The donation was a result of a MoU signed on 22 February 2012 in Yangon between China and Myanmar, for the establishment of friendly relationship between the Beijing Lingguang Si Temple and the Shwedagon Pagoda of Yangon on the occasion of the 2,600th anniversary of the founding of the Shwedagon Pagoda.
