Description
On October 16, 2009 Chinese Premier Wen Jinbao announced that the Chinese Government had given Kenya 600 million Kenyan shillings to fund the development of infrastructure. The infrastructure projects would be determined based on a list of priority projects given by the Kenyan government. The amount would come in addition to the Sh1.08 billion given to Kenya by his government for the expansion of Thika Road. Present at the talks for the agreement were the Kenyan Prime minister and Kenyan ministers Franklin Bett, Amos Kimunya and Chris Obure, as well as assistant Minister Charles Keter. Unfortunately, research did not reveal further information about the infrastructure funds. It seems likely that the funding supported infrastructure projects already included in this database, possibly projects #16960 #16202 #1267 #1279 #16392 #1265 #16115 and #1285.
