Description
On March 23, 2008, the Chinese Government China and the Republic of Congo signed a loan agreement worth 2 billion CFA francs. The loan carried the following terms: a 20 year maturity, a 10 year grace period, and a 0% interest rate. The proceeds of the loan were used to be used by the borrower to support the construction of a library at the University of Marien Ngouabi (see Project ID#18223), the construction of three rural schools (see Project ID#1071), the construction of the Sino-Congolese Friendship Hospital Construction Project in M’Filou (see Project ID#30201), and the construction of a water tower in Oyo (see Project ID#1060). The loan agreement was signed in Brazzaville by Congolese Minister of Economy, Finance, and Budget Issoïbéka Pacific and Chinese Ambassador to the Congo.
