Description
During Chinese President Jiang Zemin’s visit to Cambodia in November 2000, the Chinese Government and the Government of Cambodia signed at least six agreements, of which one was an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) to give 100 million yuan assistance to Cambodia. Among this 100 million yuan assistance, 50 million yuan was a grant (as captured in this project), and the remaining 50 million yuan was from an interest-free loan (as captured in linked ProjectID#32022). One official (who spoke on the condition of anonymity) explained that the aid might go help export soybeans to China, bring rice seed to Cambodia, or help facilitate Chinese investment in Cambodian factories.RMB 45 million was provided for Cambodia's Phase 1 of Steel Bridge Materials Project (as captured in linked ProjectID#32037)RMB 5 million went toward Cambodia's Water Well Drilling Project (as captured in linked ProjectID#32040)
