Project narrative

On May 31, 2016, the Chinese Government donated 1,000 tents and 2,998 folding beds to the Government of Sri Lanka to support flood victims. The donation was worth RMB 20 million. During the donation ceremony, the Chinese Government also announced it would donate $1.5 million in cash and the funds would be used to construct a friendship village (See Record ID#53659). At the same time, the China Red Cross Society donated $50,000 to the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society for humanitarian relief activities (Record ID#53706).
