On 24 April 2006, Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived in Rabat, Morocco, kicking off his state visit to the country. During the visit President Hu Jintao committed to donating aid material worth 10 Million RMB to the Moroccan Mohammed V Solidarity (Arabic: مؤسسة محمد الخامس للتضامن‎) Fund. Aid material includes furniture, electrical appliances, computers, and materials such as jeeps, vans, and vehicles for the disabled. According to a statement put out by Embassy of China to Morocco, the aid materials will benefit nearly 200,000 children in 300 social centers across the country and several disability centers in remote areas. On 14 February 2008, the handover ceremony of aid materials from the Chinese government to the Moroccan Mohammed V Solidarity Fund was held in Casablanca. Chinese Ambassador to Morocco Gong Yuanxing, Economic and Commercial Counselor, Qi Jianwei, General Coordinator of Mohammed V Solidarity Fund, El Azami, Board Director, Ben Musa, and other persons in charge of the foundation attended the handover ceremony.
