Description

On 29 January 2009, the Chinese Ambassador to Senegal signed an economic and technical cooperation agreement (ETCA) granting $11.5 million USD to the Government of Senegal for unspecified development projects. Media sources reported that the funds would be used for sports cultural, and sanitation projects. In fact, the Senegal Finance Minister told Pambazuka News that the grant could finance 11 stadium projects, a museum, a national theatre in Dakar, and a children's hospital.
