Project narrative

On April 2 2022, an inauguration ceremony was held for the upgraded Neonatology Unit and Central Oxygen System at the Lady Aitchison Hospital in Pakistan funded by a Chinese special grant. The project was carried out in collaboration with the Institute of International Relations and Media Research (IIRMR). The 150-year-old historical Lady Aitchison Hospital with 200 beds manages deliveries of around 1000 babies in a month and was in direct need of renovation. The ceremony was attended by Chinese Acting Consul General Peng Zhengwu, IIRMR Chairman Muhammad Mehdi, Lady Aitchison Hospital MS Dr. M. Iqbal Shahid, and Neonatology Department In-Charge Aliya Batool.
