Project narrative

On December 2, 2022, the Chinese Embassy donated GYD 4 million to Guyana’s Civil Defence Commission. The donation was made towards the National Disaster Relief Effort. Funds were then used to purchase long boots and food supplies. These supplies will bolster food hampers that are packed and dispatched by the Commission. A handover ceremony was held for this donation at the CDC headquarters. Chinese Ambassador to Guyana, Guo Haiyan, and Director General of the CDC, Colonel Nazrul Hussain, attended the ceremony.
