On September 25, 2022, the Chinese Consulate General in Christchurch donated children's books to Tūranga (Central Library) in Christchurch. The donation is part of Chinese Immersion Day at the library, itself part of New Zealand Chinese Language Week. The donated books include children's favorite idiom stories, traditional culture and drawing books, and books on modern China. The books were presented by Consul General He Ying at a ceremony at the library. The financial value of the donation is unknown.
