Project narrative

In October 2007, the city of Shanghai donated a replica of its famous attraction, Yu Garden (Yuyuan Garden), to its German sister city of Hamburg as a mark of friendship between the two cities. The garden would include the Zigzag Bridge, the ornamental lake and the pavilion at its center. It would span 3,000 square meters. The garden opened in 2008.
