Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

Beginning in 2002, the Shanghai Library began the "Window of Shanghai" book donation program globally. Sometime after 2002, the University of Auckland Library joined the program; as a result, Shanghai Library donated over 900 books in either Chinese or English primarily sourced from Chinese publishing houses that covered subjects such as Chinese history, language, literature and culture.

Staff comments

1. It is entirely unknown when this donation was made except for the fact that it came after 2002, when "Window of Shanghai" began globally. It is possible that the 900 books donated came over multiple donations. This issue merits further investigation.
