Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On July 31 2022, following a flash flood in the Tangir district of Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan Autonomous Region, PowerChina dispatched workers involved with the Diamer-Bhasha Dam project to assist in flood relief efforts. Over the course of 4 days, PowerChina workers cleared 8 kilometers of road that had collapsed or was buried by landslide debris, backfilled local irrigation canals, and safely eliminated other hidden dangers caused by the flood. PowerChina also contributed to a larger donation from the All-Pakistan Chinese Enterprises' Association (captured in Record ID#100428) and donated USD 104,000 to the Pakistani Prime Minister's Flood Relief Fund (captured in Record ID#100426).
