Project narrative

On October 28, 2022, the Chinese Government hosted a ceremony for the Chinese Ambassador Scholarship Award at National University of Samoa, in which there were 20 recipients. These scholarships are funded by the Chinese Government and assist in expanding overseas educational opportunities for Samoan students. The monetary value of this scholarship is unknown. China’s Ambassador to Samoa, Chao Xiaoliang, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year were also announced at the ceremony, with Ambassador Xiaoliang announcing 26 available spots.
