Project narrative

On March 8, 2022, China donated garbage trucks and bins to Tarawa Urban Council during a handover ceremony at KV20 park. In total 4 trucks and 30 bins were handed over to TUC Mayor Mr. Baraniko Baaro from H.E. Ambassador Tang Songgen, witnessed by Hon. Minister Taabeta Teakai, Vice Mayor Simon Tuen, Clerk Alice Kianteata, council staff, workers and the media. Those trucks and bins are gifts from Qingdao city of China, carrying warm greetings and love of Qingdao people. The donation will go towards the Tarawa Urban Council's plans for waste management and pollution reduction.
