Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On September 27, 2022, during the China-Central Asian Countries Friendship Forum, Xi'an Municipal Government committed to set up a Special Central-Asia Scholarship for citizens from the five central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan) over the next 3 years. The monetary value of each scholarship and the exact number of intended recipients are unknown. The scholarship uses a "1+4" model for college education and a "1+3" model for junior college education. The "1" part refers to the first-year preparatory stage of the international student scholarship; "4" and "3" refer to 4 years of undergraduate major study and 3 years of higher vocational major study respectively. During their studies, international students will receive subsidies including tuition fees, accommodation fees, living allowances and other related expenses to ensure their study and life. Over 28 colleges in Xi'an are participating in this program.
