Project narrative

On September 16, 2022, as part of the President of China Xi Jinping’s state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan and China Construction Bank Corporation (Astana Branch) signed a $300 million credit facility agreement. The loan proceeds were to be used by the borrower to finance investment projects in Kazakhstan. The credit facility availability period lasted for 24 months from the date of the agreement signing. The term of the loan was three years from the date of loan’s receipt (final maturity date: October 2025). As of December 31, 2022, the credit facility had achieved a 33.3% disbursement rate ($100 million out of $300 million).
