Full Description

Project narrative

On December 9, 2022, a book donation ceremony was held from Guangzhou City to the Confucius Institute at Kazan Federal University on the 10th anniversary of the establishment of international sister cities between Guangzhou and Kazan, Russia. Chinese Consul General in Kazan Xiang Bo, Director of Kazan Foreign Affairs Office Gali Akhmetov, Vice President of Kazan Federal University Alishev, Director of Confucius Institute at Kazan Federal University Alikbelova and others attended the book donation ceremony. The donation consisted of 43 volumes of "Guangzhou Dadian·Qu Lei," which contains 1,589 kinds of Cantonese opera arias, tunes, and scripts from the late Ming Dynasty to around the founding of New China. The donation was made in hopes that the collection of books in the Confucius Institute at the University will help Kazan people better understand China’s long history and culture.
