In 2011, the Bank of China (BOC) provided a $61 million USD loan to German shipping company Bernhard Schulte GmbH for the acquisition of three 9,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) ships to be built at the Shanghai Jiangnan Changxing Heavy Industry Shipyard.
