Project narrative

On January 24, 2022, China shipped relief supplies worth 1 million yuan from Fiji to Tonga in response to a natural disaster in Fiji that occurred a few days prior. The donation of relief supplies was mostly funded by the Chinese Embassy in Fiji, supplemented by Chinese enterprises in Fiji. The donation included drinking water, food, electric generators, water pumps, electric saws, personnel protective equipment, medical supplies, mobile prefabricated houses, tractors, and other disaster relief materials and equipment. Two China National Fisheries (Group) Corporation vessels carried the supplies to Tonga, arriving on January 27th.
