Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On October 6, 2022, the Chinese Embassy in Liberia donated a batch of feminine hygiene products, including over 6,000 sanitary pads, to the Jewel Starfish Foundation. Ambassador Ren Yisheng handed over the women's products to Liberian Vice President Taylor on behalf of the embassy. Li Jiang, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy, and the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Liberian Vice President, attended the event. This donation fulfills the support that the Chinese Embassy in Liberia pledged to the Jewel Starfish Foundation on July 25, 2022. The monetary value of the donation is unknown. The donation is part of ongoing efforts to advocate for Liberian women, children, disabled individuals, and other vulnerable groups. In a speech, Ambassador Ren indicated that with all the great initiatives and skills training programs expected to be offered through the YWCA Jewel’s Training Center, his administration would collaborate with the Jewel Starfish Foundation to organize an online training for the beneficiaries.
