Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On July 30, 2022, the Chinese government donated solar street lights to the Border Bridge in Liberia. The Border Bridge connects Montserrado and Bomi counties. The Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Ren Yisheng, special representative of the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Jake Brown, representatives of local leaders from the counties of Montserrado, Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, Gparpolu, and 300 locals attended the dedication ceremony. The value of the donation is unknown. In a speech, Mr. Brown thanked the Chinese side for its long-term contribution to promoting the economic and social development of Liberia. He said that due to the long-term lack of lighting facilities on the bridge, safety accidents and public security cases frequently occurred. The Chinese side helped Liberia to install reliable and easy-to-use lighting facilities for the bridge, which will bring great convenience to the lives of the local people.
