Project narrative

On May 10, 2005, the opening ceremony of the "Window of Shanghai" program took place at the Bibliothèque Municipale de Lyon, a public library in Lyon, France. The purpose of the donation was to introduce a cultural exchange program between China and France, giving the French people an opportunity to see more of Shanghai and China. The event was attended by Lyon's Deputy Mayor, the Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Paris, the First Secretary, and the Chinese Vice Consul General in Marseille. Approximately one hundred local citizens and overseas Chinese citizens attended the event. The financial value of the donation is unknown.
