Project narrative

On September 8, 2022, the Chinese Embassy in Botswana granted BWP 415,000 to refurbish the Molepolole Kgotla Shelter in Botswana. The project will be conducted by a Molepolole-based businessman and is expected to take 6 weeks. Details of refurbishment include replacing thatches, installing supporting rafters, and establishing electricity connection. It is seen as a demonstration of the cordial relationship between Botswana and China. The project was completed on March 5, 2023. A handover ceremony was held for this donation. Member of Parliament for Molepolole South, Kabo Morwaeng, and China’s Ambassador to Botswana, Wang Xuefeng, attended the ceremony.
