Project narrative

On April 28th, 2022, H.E. Ambassador Tang Songgen from China handed over two powerful diesel generators to Hon. Minister Willie Tokataake of Kiribati's Public Utilities Board (PUB). With a combined capacity of 2.4 megawatts, these generators will help meet the current power needs in South Tarawa, enhancing daily life conveniences and boosting economic and social development for residents. The Chinese Embassy will collaborate closely with Kiribati's Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Energy (MISE) and PUB to ensure these new generators become operational as soon as possible.
