In 2020, 14% of the funding for the University of Technology Sydney's Australia-China Relations Institute (UTS: ACRI) derived from industry contributions. The Australia-China Relations Institute is an affiliated think tank established by the University of Technology Sydney to focus on Australia-China relations. Industry supporters for the budget included Yancoal, John Holland (John Holland Pty Ltd), and China Construction Bank (CCB) in addition to 3 other entities (King & Wood Mallesons, Moelis Australia, and PwC). The total external contributions towards the 2020 UTS:ACRI funding totaled to $185,000 AUD, of which Yancoal is estimated to have provided $30,833.3333333 AUD given the assumption of equal contributions.

1. To estimate the contributions by the Chinese state-owned entities, AidData has assumed that each donor granted in equal proportions ($30,833.3333333AUD each) for the $185,000 AUD total corporate contributions.
