Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On June 17, 2022, Chinese ambassador to Seychelles handed over newly installed beach protection billboards and planted trees on Grand Anse Mahé beach. The minister for Agriculture, Climate Change, and Energy, Flavien Joubert, Speaker of the National Assembly, Roger Mancienne, and the National Assembly representative for the Grand Anse Mahé district, Waven William, were all present at the event. Students and teachers of the district's primary school and young diplomats of the Chinese embassy also were in attendance. The billboard installations and tree plantings signaled the launching of a beach protection project primarily supported by the Chinese Embassy. However, the specific amount the Embassy contributed to the project is unknown.
