China Funded the Inaugural Micronesian Expo in the Federated States of Micronesia

On July 18, 2022, there was a handover ceremony for the first Micronesia Expo, which was sponosored by the Chinese Embassy in the Federated States of Micronesia. The Expo was held in Palikir, the capital of Micronesia. Ambassador to the Federated States of Micronesia Mr. Huang Zheng, Secretary of Resources and Development Mr. Akiyon, Acting Secretary of Foreign Affairs Mr. Kantaro, and Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs Mr. Brandi attended the ceremony. In Mr. Akiyon's speech, he expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Chinese Embassy for providing financial support to the first Micronesian Expo, saying that this is the first foreign financial support received by the Expo. The inaugural Micronesian Expo was held in Pohnpei, the capital state of the Federated States of Micronesia, from July 18th to 22nd, and was broadcast live on the Internet, and was warmly welcomed by the people of Micronesia nationwide. In their speeches, the traditional leaders and dignitaries of Micronesia who participated in the Expo expressed their heartfelt thanks to China for its financial support for the Expo, saying that it fully reflected the "great friendship" between Micronesia and China, and that it had an important positive role and far-reaching impact on enhancing the communication between the two countries.
