Full Description

Project narrative

On September 14, 2022, there was signing ceremony for the Implementation Agreement of China's Assistance to the Maintenance Project of Pohnpei State Government Building. The ceremony was held at the Ministry of Transportation, Communications and Infrastructure of the Federated States of Micronesia, and Chinese Ambassador Huang Zheng and Minister of Transportation, Communications, and Infrastructure, attended the ceremony on behalf of the two governments. Deputy Minister of Transportation, Communications and Infrastructure, Mr. Witchelp, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Brandi, and Head of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Embassy, Mr. Yang Zuoyuan, attended the ceremony. as well. The maintenance work will be conducted by China Jiangxi International Company. The construction includes repairing the indoor and outdoor decoration of the Pohnpei State Government Office Building and substation, the power and weak current, and fire protection systems, repairing and updating the building's supporting parking lots, roads and other facilities, and adding outdoor parking sheds and canopies at the main entrance of the building (See Record ID#201124).
