Project narrative

On February 7, 2022, the Chinese ambassador to Djibouti attended the signing ceremony of the agreement with the host institution to open a Confucius Institute in Djibouti. The institute opened on April 6, 2023 at the industrial and commercial high school of Djibouti. The institute, in cooperation with other local high schools, has more than 600 students, 18 classes and seven teaching points. Its students mainly come from high schools in the country's capital. This is the first Djibouti Confucius Institute and it was jointly established by the Chinese Sichuan Normal University and the Djibouti National Education and Vocational Training Department.
