Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On April 8, 2022, the handover ceremony of agricultural machinery donated by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Solomon Islands was held. The donation includes 5 tractors, farm carts, ploughs and other agricultural machinery and equipment. The donation was made through the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) programme coordinated by the MFAET to the MAL. These machinery will be used in two farms named SAPE and Goshen in Guadalcanal and Malaita province. It will increase the productivity of cassava, taro and other root-crop production, exactly the kind of help SI farmers need. It is expected that the relevant agricultural machinery and equipment will be put into use as soon as possible, making more contributions to poverty alleviation and improvement of people's livelihood in the rural population of the institute, and promoting agricultural cooperation.
