Project narrative

On March 6th, 2022, the Chinese government sent the 29th medical team to Guinea for 18 months to work at China-Guinea Friendship Hospital, in the capital Conakry. The medical team consists of 22 team members, two of whom are from the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the other team members are all from Beijing Tiantan Hospital. The 20 team members from Beijing Tiantan Hospital come from 15 clinical specialties such as neurology, emergency department, and critical care, as well as functional departments such as civil engineering and financial accounting. During the 18-month aid work in Africa, in addition to providing medical services to the local people and helping the locals improve their medical and health standards, they will also undertake tasks such as promoting hospital construction and improving management systems; from the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and the Beijing Municipal Government. The two team members from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will carry out work in the fields of health policy and public health. On April 14th, the unveiling ceremony of the resident outpatient clinic of the 29th medical team to Guinea was held. The new medical team opened a clinic and a pharmacy in the newly built comprehensive building (see Record ID#64425).
