Project narrative

On November 8, 2022, a groundbreaking ceremony was held by the Chinese Embassy in Oman for the Zheng He Monument in Salalah, Oman. The monument commemorates Zheng He, a fifteenth-century Chinese navigator who visited Oman several times during the Ming Dynasty, and the friendship between Oman and China. A completion ceremony was held on May 30, 2023. The monetary value of the donation is unknown.
