Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On November 21, 2022, the Chinese Embassy in the Bahamas provided a BSD $2,800 grant to the Bahamas Chinese Dragon Boat Association (BCDBA) to purchase life-saving protective gear and other supplies. The handover ceremony took place after a symposium on the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China among overseas Chinese and Chinese-funded institutions in the Bahamas. Chinese Ambassador Dai Qingli congratulated BCDBA President Chen Yuxia and presented her with a BSD $2,800 cheque. On behalf of the BCDBA, Chen expressed her deep gratitude to the embassy for its continued support and said that the association will continue to promote the Chinese dragon boat sport to the Bahamians and make greater contributions to spreading Chinese culture and deepening cultural exchanges between China and the Bahamas.

1. The source does not state the grant amount, but the photo of the check reads $2,800 (assumed to be BSD rather than USD or CNY).
