Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On October 6, 2022, the Chinese Embassy in the Bahamas donated 10 Samsung tablets with keyboard cases to the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCFPWD), Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development. Chinese Ambassador Dai Qingli and NCFPWD Chairperson Nalini Bethel presided over the handover ceremony at the Chinese Embassy and presented tablets to students. The monetary value of the donation is unknown. In a speech, Ambassador Dai said the donation was the result of discussions with executive members of the NCFPWD and hoped the presentation could be the beginning of a long friendship and cooperation between the Embassy and the Commission. Bethel said the donation came at an appropriate time as the commission is observing October as Disability Awareness Month.
