Full Description

Project narrative

On August 1, 2022, Ambassador to Burundi Zhao Jiangping, Minister of Agriculture Rulema of Burundi, and the leader of a Chinese agricultural expert group aiding Burundi attended the donation ceremony for 13 tons of high-quality seeds to several provinces within Burundi. The seeds will be shred amongst the Gitega, Ngozi, Kanyanza and Muyinga provinces. The seeds, a type of rice called CHIBUCO, were obtained from a variety that already existed in Burundi. CHIBUCO is resistant to diseases and adaptable to the mountains at an altitude of 1750m.
