Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On June 1, 2022, the Chinese Embassy in Liberia invited representatives of teachers and students from Star Foundation School in Montserrado to celebrate International Children's Day. Chinese Ambassador Ren Yisheng attended the event and signed a handover certificate with the school on assisting its repair. In addition to the handover certificate, the Chinese Embassy also donated sports and cultural equipment to the school (see Record ID#100806). The renovation intended to support the school's education and youth development amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Principle Isaiah Y. Johnson, Sr. thanked the Chinese embassy for its long-term contribution to Liberia's economic and social development and for helping them to repair the school in difficult times. On May 26, 2023, Star Foundation School changed its name to "China-Liberia Friendship School."
