Project narrative

On February 27, 2021, the 20th Qinghai province medical team to Burundi held a farewell ceremony at Qinghai Red Cross Hospital before setting off for Burundi. The medical team of 29 team members was led by Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital with participation from Qinghai Red Cross Hospital, Qinghai Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other hospitals. Once in Burundi, the team set up three stations in Bujumbura, Mubanda, and Gitega. During the period of medical assistance, the 20th medical team in Burundi completed 13,784 outpatient and emergency ward rounds, 826 operations, 2,615 diagnosis and treatment cases, 2,978 ultrasounds, 419 radiological examinations, and more than 50 major surgical techniques. The medical team completed its time in Burundi on August 26th, 2022.
