Project narrative

On March 16th, 2022, the handover ceremony of medical supplies donated by the Chinese Embassy to Mauritania was held at the residence of the Chinese Medical Aid Team to Mauritania. Witnessed by Ambassador Li Baijun, Commercial Counselor Xi Wei signed the handover certificate with the directors of the National Hospital Center, National Institute of Public Health Research, and Friendship Hospital. The donations include 91 boxes of medicine, medical equipment and test reagents, weighing around 30 tonnes. Ambassador Li Baijun said in a speech that in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, medical and health care is a priority direction of China-Mauritania cooperation. This donation is meant to "cooperate with the Mauritanian side to jointly fight the Covid-19 epidemic and promote the development of public health in Mauritania."
