Project narrative

On June 29, 2022, the Chinese Government donated a second batch of 100 commuter buses to Syria. Chinese Ambassador to Syria, Feng Biao, and Syrian Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Hussein Makhlouf, attended the delivery ceremony in Damascus, signed a handover certificate, and took a short tour in one of the new buses. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. Feng told reporters during the ceremony that the donation aims to boost the livelihood of the Syrian people amid the tough economic circumstances the country is going through. On June 20, 2019, Syria received the first batch of 100 buses from China including accessories and equipment (Record ID#64574).
