The Confucius Classroom at Galway Education Centre was established in 2014. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Galway Education Centre with a grant. Renmin University of China (中国人民大学) was the partner Chinese institution for this Confucius Classroom. This Confucius Classroom became UCD Confucius Institute Regional Training Centre in 2012.
