On June 24, 2022, the 17th Chinese Medical Team held a lecture on anti-malaria solutions and malaria knowledge at the Sao Tome and Principe University (a Universidade de São Tomé e Príncipe). The lecture took place on the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the Chinese-made compound Artemisinin into the fight against malaria which is used in a chemical called Artequick. Artequick is used in fumigation to attack pregnant mosquitos and, ultimately, prevent the spread of malaria.
