Project narrative

On August 16, 2023, the Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) co-hosted an virtual training seminar on African swine fever (ASF) prevention and control with the Veterinary Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The seminar was organized via Zoom and featured more than 30 experts from both countries. Training topics included the virological characteristics of ASF, methods of diagnosis, transmission patterns, biosafety protocols, prevention and control strategies, and updates on vaccine research and development. Bosnian participants expressed appreciation for China’s timely technical support and expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation in veterinary public health. This training was a separate initiative from the July 2023 donation of emergency veterinary materials (see Record ID#102732).
