The Confucius Classroom at Mikuláš Kováč Grammar School was established in 2016. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Mikuláš Kováč Grammar School in Banská Bystrica with a grant. Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE, 东北财经大学) was the partner Chinese institution for this Confucius Classroom.
