Project narrative

The Confucius Classroom at Hwasan Middle School was established on July 30, 2009. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Hwasan Middle School (화산중학교; 华山中学) with a grant. Jilin City No.1 High School (吉林市第一中学) was the partner Chinese institution for this Confucius Classroom. An agreement was signed between Hwasan Middle School and Jilin City No.1 High School on July 13, 2007 to establish a Confucius Classroom. The Confucius Classroom was officially opened on December 23, 2010. The Confucius Classroom began operations on July 23, 2010.
