Project narrative

On June 10, 2009, the Chinese Government donated a statue of Abraham Lincoln to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Illinois. The cast bronze statue, titled "Before the Day of Decisive Battle”, was 44 inches tall and weighed about 80 pounds and portrays Lincoln standing with his right foot planted on a rock and his coat blowing in the win; it was sculpted by Chinese artist Yuan Xikun, and the original of the sculpture was seven feet tall and housed in Beijing, China.
