Project narrative

On November 17, 2003, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Houston donated 0ver 130 books and 10 CD-ROMS to the Mervyn Sterne Library at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB). The books were primarily in English, with some bilingual ones, and covered topics such as classic Chinese literature, art, law, and business. The books and CD-ROMs were added to the library's Asian collection. The official reception ceremony was held on November 18, 2003.
